WHAT WE DO
At Hermitage Playschool, we believe that every child deserves a strong foundation for their future education. We are a nonprofit preschool that provides a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow and prepare for kindergarten.
Our experienced team of educators, partnered with volunteers, is dedicated to providing high-quality education and care for your child. We strive to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere where children feel comfortable and confident to explore and discover the world around them.
Our Programs
We offer 3 different program options for your child(ren).

After students arrive and attendance is taken they are introduced to the calendar, alphabet, numbers, songs like our theme, and learn about our world.
Circle Time
Centre/Craft Time
Students can choose from a few activities that help develop their concentration, creativity and fine motor skills.
Gym Time
Students enjoy activities in the Gym, outside, at Homesteader Community League, and at the playground to develop gross motor skills.
Field Trips
Trips include Prairie Gardens, Lego Store, Muttart, Space Science Centre, John Janzen Centre, Valley Zoo, Jurassic Forest, etc.
We also offer our families a trip to the Calgary Zoo and have a weekend campout in June. Throughout the year we have parties were parents/grandparents/siblings are welcome to attend.
Cooking
Students are guided in preparing and cooking basic meals and snacks.
Science
Students learn basic science by conducting age-appropriate experiments.
OUR SPACES
Our Playschool is located inside of St. Maria Goretti School where we are free to utilize their gymnasium during recess times.
We also use the Homesteader Community League's playground, outdoor skating rinks, and indoor spaces for our exercise time.
